WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING HOTEL:

Crowne Plaza Hotel
CHICAGO-METRO
733 WEST MADISON
CHICAGO, IL 60661

Crowne Plaza Hotel - Chicago Metro $159 AXION RATE - Call (312) 829-5000. They also have suites available for $189. Rooms are equipped with 27-inch flat-screen TVs, cordless phones, high-speed Internet access and complimentary weekday newspaper. Other luxuries include pillow-top mattresses and high-grade sheets, fitness facilities and complimentary sleep kits complete with eye masks, sleep CDs and lavender spray to encourage relaxation. If you have any questions, you may contact Brent Hinton (hotel sales manager) at (312)-602-2102.

This hotel is only 2 short blocks from our training facility, and has received great reviews from former students.

We recommend that you DO NOT RENT A CAR! There are plenty of taxis waiting at the above hotel and all around the city. It is much easier (and cheaper) to get around Chicago without a car (Hotels charge ~$35/day for parking). You may want to take a taxi from the airport for ~$35. I do NOT recommend the Airport Express Shuttle (they are relatively expensive and may take much longer). The courses will go from 8:30 AM to about 4:30 PM each day (Friday courses should end by noon). We will provide morning and afternoon snacks and lunch each day.

My Top Restaurant Guide for Chicago

  • Fogo De Chao - 661 N. LaSalle (312) 932-9330
A Meat-Lovers Paradise! Outstanding Brazilian churrascaria (steak house) with strolling “Gauchos” sportingswords of wood-cooked meats for an all-you-can-eat (and then some) dining extravaganza. Not cheap, butfantastic!

  • Geja's - 340 W. Armitage (773) 281-9101
Outstanding Fondue FUN! Don't miss the chocolate fondue for dessert. They also have a great wine selection.

  • Red Light – 840 West Randolph (312) 733-8880 (Walking Distance from the Crowne Plaza Hotel)
Fancy, expensive and fantastic Asian cuisine. If you are into high-end dining, you may also want to try some ofthe many other gourmet restaurants in the neighborhood: Marché (French), One Sixtyblue (Michael Jordanowns it), Carnival, and Moto. These are all very chic…and surrounded by meat-packing plants. Go figure!

  • Scoozis - 410 W. Huron (312) 943-5900
One of the more fun places to eat in town. Good Italian food and bar (Place to see and be seen!).

  • Frontera Grill / Topolo Bumbo - 445 N. Clark (312) 661-1434
Excellent Gourmet Mexican cuisine with a twist. Tends to be crowded...Always! Frontera is ~$15 - $20 per
person whereas Topolo is about twice as expensive. This has been called the best food in Chicago.

  • Cafe Baba-Reeba - 2024 N. Halsted (773) 935-5000
Spanish (NOT Mexican) food. This is a Tapas bar (appetizers). The items on the menu are small so you can
sample lots of different things. This is a really FUN place to go with a group!

  • Twin Anchors - 1655 North Sedgwick (312) 266-1616 (Frank Sinatra’s favorite restaurant)
This place is a real Chicago treat! An 80 year-old neighborhood bar with the best BBQ ribs in town (as rated by
all of the local food critics). This is also in a great part of town; filled with locals and near comedy clubs.

  • Greektown ~200 S. Halsted (These restaurants are only a few blocks from the Crowne Plaza Hotel)
There are several great Greek restaurants which all serve wonderful food (OK...so I'm Greek). Great food,
inexpensive wine, very accommodating, lots of fun. Try Greek Islands, Santorini, & Kostas.

  • Pizza
Let's not forget what made Chicago famous. This is the only place in the world to get REAL pizza. There is an
endless list of world-class pizza places. Here are just a few great ones: Gino's East; Giordono’s or Edwardo's
(Great stuffed spinach pizza) several locations; Pizzeria Due (my favorite).

  • Bistro 110 – 110 East Pearson (312) 266-3110
Excellent French Bistro. Moderately expensive, but excellent food and not too stuffy. Smart casual.

  • Wild Fire 159 West Erie (312) 787-9000
The entire back wall is on fire with wood burning ovens and rotisseries. Excellent meats/great atmosphere.

  • Mangianos 516 N. Clark (312) 644-7700 my favorite Italian Restaurant. Great food...BIG portions!

  • Mortons of Chicago – The Steakhouse 1050 North State (312) 266-4820 – This is my favorite steak place. It is
the original Mortons, and it is expensive, but it’s hard to beat for great steaks.

  • Charlie Trotters 816 W. Armitage (773) 248-6228 for the gourmet on expense account…and not much of an
appetite (small portions, but lots of them). Always ranked in the nation’s top 10, recently rated #1 in country!
